"My Janis" is a window into rock legend Janis Joplin's private world as she struggles to find her identity in the summer of 1966. In writer-actress Arianna Veronesi's one-woman play, Joplin has just spent a reclusive year at her parent's Texas home after nearly dying from speed and alcohol addictions in San Francisco. At age 23, she works hard to get rid of her destructive habits. But faced with mounting pressure to pursue her musical career, she ultimately comes to a crossroads. Watch her struggle with her demons when this emotional portrait makes its world premiere at The New Collective LA, as part of the Hollywood Fringe Festival.
